Brief Position Description
The New Product Introduction Engineer (NPIE) will have ownership of new products from concept through product stabilization after launch. Responsibilities include DFX ownership for Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) and switch systems, manufacturing process development and optimization at contract manufacturers, and achieving product stability and maturity.
O Drive & implement the DFX process with intense focus at architecture, layout and proto phases
O Be the Operation focal point interacting with Design Engineering;
O Interact with Engineering Development team (HW, ASIC, CAD, and Mechanical) to provide DFX feedback at package, PCBA and system level.
O Champion early CM involvement and have ownership in new product development
O Ensure manufacturing process and test readiness prior to proto/pilot/PVT for PCBA and system builds;
O Drive CMs during development builds and address key issues to enable meeting the required Brocade yield goals.
O Work with cross-functional (HW, Diag, Mfg, CM) teams to drive closure technical issues
O Review and analyze failure data and recommend course of actions;
O Resolve key technical issues before transferring products from NPI to sustaining.
Essential Qualifications:
1. BS ME/EE or equivalent;
2. Minimum 6 years experience in PCBA manufacturing or testing;
3. Experience in DFM/X;
4. Experience in system design/debug;
5. Strong leadership skills;
6. Strong program management skills; 7. Strong communication and language skills. (English in both writing and speaking) |
